An operating system for the web
LacspaceOS is a real desktop that runs in a browser — windows you drag and snap, a Dock, Spotlight, a filesystem and a terminal. Sign in once with your Lacspace account and all 18 Lacspace products are already installed.
What it does
- A real window manager
- Drag, resize from eight edges, snap to halves and quarters, maximise, minimise and stack by focus — at 60fps.
- Spotlight
- ⌘K opens a launcher over every app and action. The whole shell is reachable from the keyboard.
- Dock and menu bar
- A magnifying Dock with running indicators, and a menu bar owned by whichever app has focus.
- Control Centre
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, brightness, sound, accent colour and wallpaper in one panel.
- Files
- A real tree with folders, uploads, previews and a Trash you can recover from.
- Terminal
- A working shell — ls, open, ps, whoami, date, uname — reading live system state.
- Bikram Sambat throughout
- BS dates sit alongside Gregorian in the clock, the Calendar and the Notification Centre.
- A phone OS on phones
- Below 768px it becomes a home screen with a paged app grid, a dock and an app switcher.
